Q. Will My Insurance Cover Treatment?
A. Yes and No
Almost all insurance companies have a policy for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) when it is used to treat Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD). A person with TRD has been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and who has tried and/or failed at least four (2-4) antidepressant medications at an adequate dose and duration.
When TMS is used outside of treating TRD, Insurance Companies will usually not pay for treatment, therefore leaving the patient responsible.
However, TMS is highly effective in treating other neurological conditions (e.g., Autism, anxiety, trauma, concussions, PTSD, OCD, migraines, pain, etc.). These are considered off-label conditions and will not be covered by insurance.
It also has virtually no side effects (Click this link to see our complete statement on Side Effects).
Our highly trained staff will provide you with all the necessary documentation so you can submit it to your insurance company.
*Disclaimer: Please contact your insurance company to understand your benefits fully and see if your plan covers any or all of your brain treatment. Our staff is here to provide you with all the relevant Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes for plan coverage.
