What is Creyos Health?
We use the Creyos Health cognitive assessment platform to accurately measure brain health and to assess, monitor, and manage core areas of cognition so that we can clearly see that your treatment is on the right track. The tasks don’t take long to complete. And your health efforts will be even more successful now that you can easily and objectively track how your brain is responding to treatment. You may also just want to know how you or a loved one assesses.
Since 2009, hundreds of thousands of people have used what was earlier called Cambridge Brain Sciences, now called Creyos Science Cognitive Assessment, to gain a deeper understanding of their brain health.
As the leading online platform for cognitive assessment with one of the largest secure cognitive databases, we are now in the unique position to push the boundaries of our understanding of the brain.
We at BrainStim Centers recommend everyone take these tests before, during, and after any treatment. Or even if you aren’t looking for treatment but would just like to know more about how your brain is functioning.
The first step to managing your brain health is to measure it.
Quantify core aspects of your brain health using a set of fun, gamified, and scientifically validated cognitive tasks.
Receive a comprehensive, yet simple and easy-to-read cognitive assessment report in minutes.
Here at BrainStim Centers, we are committed to improving your brain health. As part of our treatments, we now check up on areas such as memory, attention, reasoning, and verbal ability as part of a standard assessment of cognitive performance. After a few quick, fun tasks, you’ll have an objective measure of how your cognition is doing today, like a blood pressure cuff for your brain.
Why do Creyos Cognitive Testing?
✤ Objectively measuring cognition is a standard practice at our clinic and a key facet of our patient care programs.
✤ Measuring cognition before, during, and/or after specific interventions will also allow you to gain confidence that the intervention is having the desired effects.
✤ Changes in your health can happen slowly, and it is difficult to know if you are maintaining your brain health over time. Tracking your cognitive measurements will give you a long-term view of how your brain health is changing. With this information in hand, we can now collaborate together to make informed decisions regarding your brain health.
✤ That’s why we use a third-party service called Creyos Health to accurately measure core elements of your cognitive function, including memory, attention, reasoning and verbal abilities, throughout your treatment plan.
✤ The tasks you will complete have been developed by leading neuroscientists over the last 25+ years, taken over 8 million times, and used in 300+ peer-reviewed studies of cognition.
✤ The Creyos Health tasks are highly engaging and gamified, efficient (completion time of 1.5 – 3 minutes per task), and can be taken online or in person using common everyday devices like iPads, or desktop and laptop computers.
The Creyos (formerly Cambridge Brain Sciences) tasks were developed in the laboratory of Dr. Adrian Owen, former Canada Excellence Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience and Imaging, over the course of his 30+ year career. The tasks assess aspects of cognition including reasoning, memory, attention, and verbal ability. Over 300 scientific studies have been run to date using the Creyos tasks, yielding numerous publications in leading academic journals.
The tasks have been validated in studies of patients, brain imaging studies of healthy volunteers, and in several large-scale public studies involving tens of thousands of volunteers. They have proven to be efficient and sensitive measures of baseline cognitive capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions
I could not complete my assessment due to an interruption or technical issue – what should I do?
If you’re interrupted or experience a technical issue during the assessment, contact us here at the clinic and describe the situation, as well as the task you were on, so that results for that specific task can be interpreted appropriately. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing the assessment, let us know along with the operating system and browser you are using so we may assist you.
What do the results look like?
A Creyos Health report will show you your raw score on each task, as well as how your score compares to others in similar age and gender groups. A sample report is available here for your reference.
I feel like I did not do well on my assessment – should I be concerned?
You should not be concerned if you feel you did not do your best – there is no such thing as “best” for this type of assessment. The tasks are designed to be challenging and to measure your abilities by getting increasingly difficult as you answer questions correctly. Please be aware that this is only a snapshot of your cognition at the moment you are completing the assessment and that cognitive performance tends to fluctuate naturally from day to day depending on many factors (like your sleep quality, stress level, nutrition, exercise regimens, etc.).
